Hi everyone and thanks so much for visiting Tim's Photoblog! As a complete blogging newbie I thought it would be interesting to gather here a collection of existing images and new ones taken specially for the blog. An eclectic mix that seems to be taking on a life of it's own already - I do hope you like it, please say hello and leave a comment :o)

Very nice landscape and great in b-w. The quality of your pictures is sometimes with a lot of "pixel", you can see it on this picture quite good on the house. Why is that? Which camera do you use?

Hi there and thanks :-) this pic was 'saved' from a real poor shot, under exposed, grainy and pretty much a throw away. It was a camera I had which was pretty much my first digital, the great little Minolta DiMage 7 - this was one of the first shots I played with in Photoshop one night just to see what I could do, not to save it really. Anyway, I bathed the old boathouse in a little more light with the dodge and burn tool (which really highlighted the grain and sharpening effects unfortunately!) then darkened down the sky with a graduated filter and that really brought out the shafts of light that were there but not so obvious! All of a sudden I had something which at this size looks quiet nice - I wouldn't want to blow it up too far though - 5MP can only go so far!! :-) PS. Is that what you meant by 'lot of pixel'? As it's interesting to know how other browsers show up the images - Tim

Hi Tim,
Jepp that is probably what I mean. It's just that you can see pixels and the quality is not so good because of that :-) I use Firefox, but I don't think it has something to do with the browse. Its as you told a problem of your reprocessing. Furthermore your pic has just 69.74 kB... Pictures I save in B/W (900px) have usually more than 250kb. And thanks for the comment!
